Na het overweldigende succes van de expositie ‘Afgezaagd’, is het kunstenaarstrio Menno Hoekstra, Gerard Eikelboom en Joris Witvliet van Klub Waanzin weer in volle overtuiging begonnen aan een vervolg expositie getiteld ‘Afgelast’. Klub Waanzin vond het nodig om naast nieuw werk al hun eerdere schepsels weer van zolder te lokken en een plekje aan te bieden, al dan niet in een nieuw jasje. Zij hebben dit keer de kunstenaars Marcel de Vries, Anna-Joh Vos, Jan Eisse Pentinga en Marijke Schutte uitgenodigd hun bij te staan in de wonderbaarlijke wereld van de waanzin. Klub Waanzin staat voor chaos, interactie en kabaal. Waar veel exposities een slaapverwekkende indruk achterlaten, staat ‘Afgelast’ voor het tegenovergestelde. Klub Waanzin maakt gebruik van schrootonderdelen, afgedankte elektrische apparaten en machineonderdelen.
In de sfeervolle werkplaats aan de Sledemennerstraat 24 t/m 28 barsten op 9 oktober om 17:00 uur de rariteiten los. Een atelier in Groningen waar bewegende sculpturen, onnozele machines en installaties tot de verbeelding spreken.

After the overwhelming success of the exhibition ‘Afgezaagd’, the the artists Menno Hoekstra, Gerard Eikelboom and Joris Witvliet of ‘Klub Waanzin’ (roughly translated as Club Madness) started devotedly working on the follow-up titled ‘Afgelast’. Klub Waanzin thought it necessary to lure their previous creatures from the attic, revamped them when needed and offered them a spot next to their latest creations. This time they invited the artists Marcel de Vries, Anna-Joh Vos, Jan Eisse Pentinga and Marijke Schutte to support them in the amazing world of madness. Klub Waanzin represents chaos, interaction and noise. Where other exhibitions leave a somnolent impression, ‘Afgelast’ will surely bring you the opposite. Klub Waanzin makes use of scrap parts, discarded electronic devices and machine parts.
These rarities will erupt in the atmospheric workshop at the Sledemennerstraat numbers 24 to 28. Starting from the 9th of October at 17.00. An atelier in Groningen where moving sculptures, silly machines and installations will speak to the imagination.
